After a spacecraft sustains serious damage and crash lands on an unknown planet, only one thing is certain. Some people are going to die. The captain makes an order to start mining the planet for its valuable resources so that the ship can be repaired and you can escape.

There’s only one problem. Spacesuits only have a limited amount of Oxygen, which means that for some crew members, death is inevitable.

Sacrificial Legacy: The Cost of Cosmic Capitalism is a relaxing mining game where death is simply just the start of a new life.

Hi everyone! We've decided to take the game and expand upon it further! We're in a place now where we are ready to share updates on what we've been working on, so if you're interested, come join us on discord! Here's an invite link: https://discord.gg/hcV65JNnsw

That game is too short! I want to mine mooooore! :D actually pretty fun

We're working on a full game as we speak! We're glad you enjoyed the game and we hope to see you for the full release!

There's a great game similar to this one called Dome Keeper. You might also like the flash games Motherload and Diggy!

This is fantastic! The grappling mechanic was super cool! I love the themes of sacrifice and greed, and I really think that the individual death messages did well to convey that. The fact each crewmember who died was given a name made it even more sad. I love it!

Dang this game rocks so hard

For the short amount of time that I played, this was really cool.

Please make a longer version. For a game jam it's the perfect length but I really enjoyed playing and would love to be able to upgrade the items even higher. I really wanted to explore the map even more and maybe some bosses around the world like terraria would be a perfect fit.
Great game!

Don't worry... it's in the works ;)
Any further suggestions for things you want to see, please let us know.

Thanks for playing! <3

Here are some more ideas that crossed my mind. I'm a game dev too so I understand that it isn't easy to implement some of these things. some of these ideas might not even be how you want your game to be played.

- procedural generation, so every time you play it feels fresh
- Limited workers, Have like 10 workers at the start and you can buy new workers. This will make you more attached to your workers, I didn't really care if one or more workers died since I'll get a new one anyway.
- Allow workers to return to base, this will add another element to the game since you'll have to pay more attention to the oxygen tank. You'll also have to make the decision to go further down to receive rarer gems (at risk your worker will not be able to return) or stay a bit near your base to mine less rarer gems but will be able to keep him alive. (high risk, high reward)
- Instead of having to pay for gold to repair the ship, you need to find ship parts to repair it. You can find these parts hidden around the map and might need to kill some bosses/mobs/aliens to be able to get those parts. Because now I see directly what I need to do to finish the game, which makes it feels short.
- items that you can only use once, for example, you can buy a piece of TNT that you'll only be able to use once and have to buy a new one once you used it.
- Inventory, At the start, you might have only one slot where you can put an item in and you'll be able to buy more slots so you can bring more items (like TNT) with you.

Like I said these are just some ideas and you don't have to do anything with them. It's your game so feel free to do with it what you want to do.

Is there a discord, social or website where I can stay up to date and follow the progress?

If you want more of a game like this you can play Dome Keeper.

(Not to say don't play this dev's game as well mining games are awesome)

Sorry for the slow reply. Thanks so much for your feedback.

We've been working on getting some socials set up. A discord is in progress (although you are welcome to join while we get it set up!).
Best place to stay up to date for now is our twitter which you can find here: https://twitter.com/CREWAdamMatthew

We've already posted some videos of the updates we've made so far :)

Just saw the twitter, looking fantastic! I'd be happy to join the discord,  where can I find the invite??

Hi Sven! A little late from us, I apologise! But, we're at a place where we are ready to share updates now, so we've got a discord invite link here if you're still interested in following progress: https://discord.gg/hcV65JNnsw

I really enjoyed this game. A short and sweet little piece of a genre I adore-- the color palette works well for it, and the gameplay / movement is smooth and satisfying. Good balance as well for the (perfect) length. Thank you for sharing!
